Let’s put this down as another reason why I love this town. The engagement at community events is so lively. Events that bring people from all walks of life together, strengthening the bonds between them are great examples of building community. Those bonds act to improve mental well-being, while helping to alleviate personal struggles. Establishing a strong town identity is important, particularly for smaller townships.
The pandemic taught us an important lesson. Community events help us stay engaged and connected. Our community events keep old traditions from disappearing and often help create new ones. We have events that showcase our uniqueness such as the Taste of Caldwell Wine Festival. Caldwell is known as “Idaho’s Wine Country”. Since 2009 when the city completed the restoration of Indian Creek the plaza on Kimball Ave. hosts many of our community events. Even a small event like our recent Painting Workshop with Amy Story was a great way to bond with our neighbors.
